As a rising senior transitioning into my last summer vacation before college, I felt as if I needed to fill my days with constant travel and productivity. I quickly realized, however, that this is not necessarily correlated with a fulfilling summer. I decided to spend my two and a half months taking photographs I things I often overlooked while on-the-go; I wanted to reflect a feeling of stillness and tranquility in my life that I previously did not take the time to appreciate. I found the beauty in things that were the norm and things that I was afraid of; I appreciated the smaller occurrences in nature and gave myself time to look up at the sky and at architecture that I passed everyday. I did not want to restrict myself to taking photos that aligned with a particular color scheme or setting because I wanted to communicate the fact that the stillness and tranquility I hoped to show can be clear in a variety of ways - even in the seemingly chaotic places or situations if the correct approach is taken.
